As a church who's still 'new on the block,' our hope for these these nights is to provide opportunities for us to learn more about the Chicora-Cherokee neighborhood , be equipped to engage and love our neighbors well, and to prayerfully consider how God is calling us to steward our relationships, time, and resources to serve His Kingdom in this context.This night's content will be different from the first Equipped to Love, but will continue to build upon what we learned. Welcome to GraceU! GraceU was created to empower attendees to navigate challenging Bible passages by addressing tough questions arising from cultural perspectives or lack of biblical knowledge.Our first term will be Stumbling Stones, a 4-week course designed and led by Caleb Thompson to address stumbling stones in scripture. The first class will be held on Monday, April 7th at 6:30PM in the Brown Room. Childcare is not provided so please plan accordingly. There will be water and snacks provided at all classes. Class materials are included in the price (15$).

This will be a helpful as we want to be intentional with our parking for the night. Childcare will be provided for ages 0-4, but please request it on the RSVP form by March 24th.

Join us for our upcoming Parenting Class taught by Pastor Will & Mallie Plonk! Starting on March 17, this 8-week class is geared towards parents of children aged 0-7. With upfront teaching from pastors & breakout sessions with other parents, we hope this will be a space for you to grow, be equipped, and build community as a parent. Each session will be 6:30-8:30 at our church building. Childcare and dinner will be provided. The cost of each participant is $15 ($30 for a couple). Signups will close on February 21. Join our Women’s Mentoring Ministry! This exciting opportunity is designed to foster Christ-centered relationships that encourage spiritual growth. Grace City has been worshipping in this building since summer 2023, and we've been so grateful for the ways God has blessed us through relationships and ministry opportunities in this community. However, one dynamic we've navigated here is that our general church membership does not reflect the demographic here in this community, which means that many of us have experienced some sort of tension when coming, going, and worshipping here in this space. We don't want to glance over that, but rather provide discipleship opportunities to learn and wrestle through those tensions together. So Monday, January 27th, we are hosting Equipped to Love. We will hear from different voices, and during that time, we will:
Ultimately, we hope that this will help our church body to grow in the way we engage and foster meaningful relationships here, loving our neighbors with both compassion and wisdom.
Families Count is a 7 week faith-based DSS-approved parenting class for parents who currently have children in foster care, or their children are at risk of entering foster care. It will meet every Sunday at Grace City Church from 1:30-4:30 starting January 26th through March 16th. We would love to have you be a part! We need people to be parent advocates, help with childcare, or provide transportation for a parent to and from class. You can find out more and sign up to serve below!
First Fruits is an extended time of prayer and worship every Tuesday morning in January starting the 14th. We want to invite you to join us to start off your day and the new year by spending time in corporate prayer and worship with our church family on Tuesday mornings in January. We hope this will be a time that we set apart as a church body to seek God's will and pray for the year to come, giving thanks and worshiping God for who He is in our lives - the first and the last, the one who holds all things together, and the head of our church. January 7th will kick off Charleston's 3rd Perspectives class. Perspectives is a 15-week discipleship course that focuses on exploring God's global purpose and helping His people discover where they fit in that mission. This is an incredible opportunity to learn and be encouraged alongside other churches in Charleston.

As a church we believe that there is no more important, strategic or effective thing we can do than pray. We believe God responds to prayer and we need God to work in the life of our church for us to be dependent, united and actively engaging the community around us. 24 hour prayer is a chance for us all to set specific time aside to ask God to work on behalf of Grace City. We desire for all of our members to participate in this as a way to serve our church and as a way to challenge us all to grow spiritually. We believe praying consistently for an hour will be a challenge for most involved and we believe the Holy Spirit will move on behalf of our prayers.

We want to invite all of our parents who are members to an event coming up called "Parents Night Out" on October 18th from 6:00-8:30 PM. We want to provide free childcare for a night while you get to go on a date with your spouse. Parenting is hard and as a church, we want to partner with our parents. And we believe pouring into marriages is a significant way to do that. The one thing we will ask is that you ask 2-3 good questions on your date in hopes that it will build intimacy. We will provide those questions for you when you drop your kids off.

On Saturday, August 10th, we will host our second fundraiser to support one of our partners Alma Ruth, founder of Practice Mercy. They are a ministry serving asylum seekers, refugees, and those most vulnerable at the Mexico-US border with a mission to share the hope of Jesus Christ. Our hope is to continue to strengthen our relationship and raise financial support to keep this ministry on the ground. This is also a really great opportunity for us to learn! We'll hear from their board members about some of the history and policies at the border, personal stories and testimonies, and opportunities to witness this ministry in person. Come learn, give, pray, and worship with us!

This study is for ANYONE - single & married, because the reality is that we all have misconceptions about the gift & difficulties of each circumstance, and we need each other to better understand, empathize, and understand God's design for each.We'll meet on Sunday nights from 5-7pm at Grace City Church (2105 Cosgrove Ave) starting on July 7.

May is AAPI Heritage Month! We have the opportunity to recognize and celebrate the contributions and achievements of Asian Americans and Pacific Islanders to American culture, and for us as Christians, contributions to the global church. We also recognize the barrier that can exist within our context in Charleston. Asian and Pacific Islander Americans make up only 2% of our population in our city, which could lead to being overlooked, misunderstood, and misrepresented. We hope that as a church, we can be intentional during this month to engage and learn some of the history, culture, stories, and experiences of this community so that we can be more equipped to love and care for our brothers and sisters of American and Pacific Islander descent. This is the type of unity that we strive for, where people of diverse backgrounds and experiences can be engaged fully, without sacrificing or minimizing core aspects of their identity.

Through art, we can see the beauty, resilience, and strength of the black community. Appreciation of different cultural expressions of art will help us learn more about the history that has shaped them. We hope also that this panel will help us to grow in our appreciation for the diversity of God's beauty.

The purpose of this panel is to provide context and understanding on black history within the Charleston area, and specifically the Chicora-Cherokee neighborhood surrounding our church. We believe that understanding our local context makes us more effective reconcilers for God's Kingdom, and we hope that this will equip and encourage us as we seek to love our neighbors well!

The Mosaic is an 8 week class hosted by Grace City Church. The US and the church both have an ugly history with racism, prejudice and injustices, and the church has not always done a good job of acknowledging this reality and being aware of how our past still very much affects our present reality. We believe that Jesus is the solution and that the church should be at the forefront of bringing about racial reconciliation and healing in its community. Our hope for this class is to educate people on our history, look at what the Bible says about this topic, and equip and facilitate meaningful conversations that will lead people of all ethnic backgrounds towards healing and biblical unity in their spheres of influence. We will do this through topical teaching on theology and history as well as space for discussion.
We will meet on Wednesday evenings starting June 14th from 7:00-9:00 PM at Radiant Church (4870 Piedmont Avenue). The cost to participate will be $25.
